Let's be honest: Does a tube of sun cream last all summer long? Then you are definitely not applying enough cream. That's why we'll tell you how you can best protect yourself and your skin - and how sun creams really work. After all, sunburn is not only unpleasant and painful, but also harmful to the skin.

The sun protection 1x1

You think it's safe to calculate how long you can stay in the sun without getting sunburn based on the sun protection factor? Attention! These theoretical values are not always safe in practice. This is because factors such as sweating, swimming or abrasion can falsify this supposedly risk-free time. So you better get out of the sun earlier than to risk sunburn.

How does sunburn occur in the first place?

If the skin is not sufficiently creamed or the skin's own protection is over, dangerous UVA and UVB rays penetrate the upper skin layers and damage the cells. The consequences? The blood vessels dilate, the blood circulation increases and the skin turns red. For our body this means hard work: the immune system has to fight to compensate for this damage. Adequate sun protection and avoiding the blazing (midday) sun are essential for wrinkle-free and healthy skin.

How do sun creams actually work?

Sun creams contain filter substances that keep the UV rays of the sun away from the skin. There are two different filter substances: chemical and mineral. Chemical sunscreens absorb the radiation - the rays are absorbed and released again in the form of heat. If you use a mineral sunscreen, white pigments reflect the sunlight and cause it to bounce off the skin.

Creams that are based on physical filters are considered more skin-friendly. Our sun cream contains microfine physical UVA and UVB sun filters. Our SUN products offer optimal sun and cell protection for sun-sensitive skin and are also the ideal companion for less sensitive skin types - especially in particularly sun-intensive regions.

How much sunscreen is enough? And when is the best time to apply sunscreen?

Do not be sparing. The rule here is: More is more. Most people generally use far too little sunscreen. So a double layer of cream is better than one that is too thin. And that over the entire surface - and very important: apply again after bathing. Sun creams should generally always be applied before leaving an inner room. The reason: not all UV filter substances work immediately. In order to rule out a temporal shift in the effect, you should rather play it safe. Because your skin should be protected directly from the first ray of sunlight.

Which parts of the body are particularly sensitive?

Sunscreen only works where it is really needed. The face, shoulders, legs and décolleté are usually diligently applied. Other parts of the body, on the other hand, which we simply don't think about when we apply sunscreen, are usually exposed to the sun without protection. The fact is: most sunburn occurs where you don't like to be rubbed in. Therefore, do not forget these parts of the body in particular when applying the cream: Ears, lips, crests, hands, feet and the inside of the arms.

The skin only protects itself from UV rays for a short time. To increase the self-protection time and protect yourself from sunburn, the only thing that helps is: CREAM. CREAM and again CREAM. And best of all with products from our SUN series.

TIP: This is how the effect of sun care lasts longer

Never leave the cream in the blazing sun. The heat minimizes the sun protection factor and the product is significantly reduced in its effect. It is also worth taking a critical look at the expiry date of sun protection: many sun protection products have a shelf life of six months after opening. After that the product is not "bad" but it is possible that the 100% protective function is no longer given.

Important: It is particularly important for the skin to cleanse off the UV protection after sunbathing with a care product that is tailored to the skin. Because sun creams and product emit SPF contain filters.

This is why after sunset care is so important

If our skin has been exposed to the sun for a long time and intensively, normal sun care is not sufficient. After a sunny day, a crisp tan is a sense of achievement. But a nice tan is also a sign of cell damage. The reaction of the skin thus shows that the cells have fought against the sun rays. That is why care after sunbathing is the be all and end all. Because the skin's needs after sunbathing should not be ignored. After Sun Lotions contain valuable moisture as well as soothing ingredients that are beneficial after a hot day.

AFTER SUN REGENERATION

Our cooling after sun lotion is the perfect complement to our sun care. After sunbathing, the skin is usually irritated and needs appropriate care: regenerating but not too greasy. The perfect refreshment after a hot day with an extra portion of moisture - from head to toe.

LSF-Allrounder for everyday life

Sun protection is so important for our skin, especially because of the premature skin aging caused by UV rays. Therefore, sun protection should always be part of the daily skin care routine. The UV radiation contained in sunlight is a danger to our skin all year round. Especially sensitive skin should always rely on additional care with SPF.

Our Face Guard Advanced is the perfect addition to daily care. The light protection concentrate can be combined with all skin care products - for every skin type.

Important: At night, our skin is in regeneration mode and should therefore not be exposed to additional sun protection. This is exactly why Face Guard Advanced is our favourite - an all-rounder for the day.

THE FACE-GUARD

Our Face Guard Advanced with SPF 30 is a real all-round talent and the ideal addition to day care.
